Thanks for providing clarification and additional details about your printing concern, @rj33040.

Having issue printing using your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) program will affect your working progress. No worries, I have additional troubleshooting steps to help you resolve this and get back to working order.

To do so, let's perform a test print using other programs to verify if there are any issues with your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) or the printer itself. Follow the steps below.

Let's start with printing using Notepad:

  1. Click the Start icon and browse to Notepad.
  2. Next, enter some text, go to File, and then select Print.
  3. Then, select your target printer and click Print.

If this does not work, we can test your printer setup to ensure this is correctly framed. Here's how:

  1. Turn your printer off, restart your computer, and then turn back on the printer. Ensure you load the printer paper correctly.
  2. Next, click Start, select Control Panel, then double-click Printers and Faxes.
  3. If the printer shows Offline, right-click the printer and select Use Printer Online.
  4. Then, double-click the printer and if there are print jobs displayed in the queue, select Printer, then Cancel All Documents. Then, close the window.
  5. Right-click the printer, select Properties, and then choose Print Test Page (If the printer is a network printer and the test page doesn't print, network issues could be the cause.).

To continue, follow Steps 2-3 under Solution 2: Test printer setup of this article: Fix printing issues in QuickBooks Desktop.

However, if you can successfully print using Notepad, let's now test your company file to verify any data issues or damage.

  1. Start with printing a different form (if you’re using customized forms or memorized reports, use a standard form or report).
  2. If you're printing a batch of forms, print a single form only. If this works, start printing smaller batches.
  3. You can also open one of the QBDT sample company files and print checks. If it works, use Resolve data damage on your company file to fix any data damage in your file and then print again.

If the issue persists, proceed to Solution 4: Run the Print and PDF tool from QuickBooks Tool Hub of this link: Fix printing issues in QuickBooks Desktop.

In case there's a need to update or change some information on the checks you've created, you can easily do so by following the instructions in this article: Create, modify, and print checks.

You can always count on me if you have other printing issues or any other concerns with QuickBooks. I'm just around the corner to provide prompt assistance. Have a good one.
