Welcome to the Community space, @farmlady1.
I recognize the importance of opening your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). I'll be here to help you sort it out.
First off, consider updating your program to the latest release. Next, Download and install the QuickBooks Tools Hub. This will help fix common errors in QBDT. Here's how:
- Close the software.
- Download the QuickBooks Tools Hub file. Then, either save it to your Downloads folder or your Windows desktop.
- Open the file you downloaded (QuickBooksToolsHub.exe).
- Follow the on-screen instructions to install. Agree to the terms and conditions.
- Double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tools hub when the installation is complete.
- Select Program Problems in the QuickBooks Tools Hub.
- Choose Quick Fix my Program.
After that, run the QuickBooks File Doctor. Let me guide you through the steps.
- Select the Company File Issues tab from the tools hub.
- Choose Run QuickBooks File Doctor.
- Select your company file from the drop-down menu. If you don’t see your file, click Browse and search to locate your file.
- Click Check your file (middle option only) and then choose Continue.
- Enter your QuickBooks admin password.
- Click Next.
Additionally, I'm adding this helpful article for detailed steps in fixing your QuickBooks Desktop: Fix issues when QuickBooks has stopped working.
Also, you can reset your password in QuickBooks Desktop whenever you have trouble signing in to your company.
