Yes. you can create a Payroll Summary report for a specific day. Just choose the Today date option or manually enter the period in the report.
Let me show you how:
- In the Payroll Summary report, tick the Dates drop-down.
- Choose Today on the list.
- To run a specific day, manually enter the date in the From and To fields.
- Tap Refresh.
If you need to customize the payroll summary report, check out this article for the steps and details: Customize reports in QuickBooks Desktop.

I have tried that but it will not display anything. What I'm actually trying to see is if I can somehow figure out what we paid out in payroll for a specific day not week and have it display all deductions for that day only. I don't know if this is possible.

Hello @cotullacowgirl,
I was able to open a payroll summary report on our test account base on the steps outlined above. Since it does not show up the same results on your end, we can run the QuickBooks Utility tools.
Doing so, QuickBooks will run a quick fix on your company data which might have some issues that can be the reason why your payroll summary report is empty. To do so:
A. To Verify Data
- Go to File.
- Click Utilities.
- Select Verify Data.
- Click OK.
B. To Rebuild Data
- Go to File.
- Click Utilities.
- Select Rebuild Data.
- Click OK.
In addition, here's an article you can read to learn more about the QuickBooks tools: Verify and Rebuild Data in QuickBooks Desktop.
Lastly, I've also included this helpful article for other ways to pull up and customize any of your payroll reports: Customize payroll and employee reports.
Keep me updated in the comments if you have any other questions. I'll be here to lend a hand.
