I'm glad to see you were able to find where some of your troubles were with your sales tax items. Great job! Thanks for including your latest screenshot for where you're expecting to see a ledger account.
Here's how you can change the account the PST on Purchases sales tax item is associated to. I recommend speaking with an accountant first to learn how this may affect your books.
- Select Sales Tax from the top menu bar.
- Choose Manage Sales Tax.
- Find the Agency associated with your PST on Purchase (for Ontario, it should be Ministry of Finance.)
- Double-click the Agency name.
- On the Edit Vendor window that appears, go to the Sales Tax Settings tab.
- Check the box Track tax on purchases separately to.
- Read the Warning.
- Choose the account you want to track the purchases to.
- Click OK to save.
