Connect to Commonwealth Bank feeds with Multi-Factor Authentication
by Intuit• Updated a day ago
Learn how to connect to Commonwealth Bank (CBA) account to QuickBooks Online with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
What is MFA?
MFA is an additional security step to help protect your data. You'll need to enter a verification code from your CBA app to sync your bank feed with QuickBooks Online. This helps ensure your bank details are only accessed by you.
How to connect to your CBA account with MFA
- Go to Transactions, then select Bank transactions (Take me there).
- Select your CBA account and enter your login information. To connect your CBA account for the first time, see How to connect bank accounts and manage imported transactions in QuickBooks Online.
- You’ll get a notification saying ‘For your security, Commonwealth Bank, Australia (NetBank) requires additional verification info. (Error 185) An authorisation notification has been sent to your device. After you approve the notification, click Done’.
- Open your CBA app and approve the login request.
- Go back to QuickBooks and select Done
Important: You’ll need to complete this verification process once per day when you first sign in to your QuickBooks account. If you sign in multiple times throughout the day, you will not need to repeat these steps until the next day. |
For Advisors and Accountants
To help your clients avoid the need for daily MFA, you can encourage them to upgrade to a direct feed. This provides a more streamlined and secure connection. You can find more information about direct feeds in our help article: Connect Commonwealth Bank direct feeds.
