I’m trying to autofill. I cleaned out my cookies, cache and history. Then I followed instructions on performing a clean uninstall. I then tried entering the E-File login information and it’s still not working. Something in my profile it set up wrong. Not sure how but I could really use some help!
i was just using the autofill and it started doing some funny things? i closed profile then rebooted my computer and tried again. it worked. cra is doing the conversion so i am thinking that may have something to do with it? good luck!
What module are you trying to autofill, T1 or TP1 or T2?
I am also having this problem. I was hoping that because it updated today that it would work for me, but it opens a CRA tab that says "Forbidden You are not authorized to view this page."
Please let me know if you found a solution.
mario is asking what module you are trying to autofill?
have you updated your efiler info? otherwise i would suggest calling support! good luck! sorry i can't be more help!
mine is working except that if i wait for the circle to stop sometimes it doesn't so i just close the tab and it is there?
I'm not sure what module the original poster is trying to autofill, but I am trying to autofill a T1.
I have updated it, but I just went and re-entered it in case if something went wrong when I first entered it. Unfortunately re-entering the information hasn't changed what happens when I try to use autofill. Thanks for trying to help, I will call customer support tomorrow to try to get this working.
i would log in through rep a client and make sure you have not lost your authorization for that client? just a thought?
I appreciate all of the suggestions, keep em coming, one of them has to work or give me insight as to what is going on. I have tried with 2 different clients and am still able to see their information on represent a client, so not the issue this time.
that is a weird one for sure? hopefully support will be able to help you get it working! very frustrating to say the least! keep your chin up!
Tuffy1973, please try to change your default browser, by example, from microsoft edge to google chrome
I had Google Chrome as my default. I have now tried Firefox and Microsoft Edge and still get the same error message.
It might be a firewall blocking it, are you able to login to your cra account manually? Also can you try a brand new file, and put a valid sin, another one if possible
I tried a third browser, I have disabled my firewalls in hopes that that would work. I tried another clients file after all of this and it got me to my log in information, but once I entered that I received a CRA error message ERR.021, but the crazy thing is, if I log into represent a client not through the AFR link, I can access my account and that clients information, no ERR.021. In saying I can try a brand new file with a valid SIN, wouldn't I have to be authorized to represent them before I could try AFR?
I also noticed in my Profile program that if I click on efile, all items listed there I can click on except for Efile authorize a representative and Efile cancel a representative. I've been having the AFR issue for weeks, but I was able to submit an auth a rep 2 weeks ago no problem
Read this news about CRA's Autofill at https://financialpost.com/personal-finance/taxes/cra-auto-fill-can-cost-you-tax-case-missing-income.
This is a great reminder not to rely on AFR alone. I use it and compare it against the income slips my clients have brought and find some that they say they should have, but have either lost or never received. I remind them that there may be tax slips missing still on the CRA website, so not to fully rely on the information. I find it a useful tool and it is efficient when it fills in the information, but I always compare the numbers I have to the ones it inputs.
Hi Truffy, it looks like your account is locked somehow for AFR. I recommend that you call CRA.
Hey Truffy, we had another customer having this issue. After they disabled the VPN it worked, do you have a VPN ?
You were correct, the initial message I was getting was "forbidden", but after getting rid of firewalls and clearing my cache I started getting the ERR.021 which indicated my account was locked. The confusing thing was that I could log into the same taxpayers CRA account through represent a client that I was trying to use AFR for and there was no error message. I called the CRA. It took a bit, but the person I talked to was able to locate the part of my account that was causing the issue and correct it. I am now able to use AFR. Thank you for all of your help.
