Showing results for
"Filer account number is missing or invalid for this type of return".... anyone come across this before?
We finally started e-filing T4/T5 slips although it is a clunky process and has been really frustrating. Now to get another error .... frustrating is not a strong enough word.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be really appreciated.
same issue, hopefully someone knows how to resolve
I heard that for T4A, the 16 digits BN must be RP and that you need the WAC that matches the BN
Done and still not filing.
And you are using the same BN and WAC when you build the XML with Profile ?
correct
your account number should be an RP program account number registered with CRA, and are you EFILING with Profile directly?
yuo can review this link and compare with your XML
efiling with profile for client using our RP BN and WAC in the transmitter id section. Called profile help yesterday and they told me it was a cRA issue and no one in the country could efile a T4a. Not sure if this is a true or if I should call back again.
@diagman, thats not true , we have lot of clients able to file T4A. You need the right WAC that matches the BN and the BN must be RP it could be ending with RP0001 or RP0002 etc but when they have the right accounts it works. I have been told that some were able to file with RC account also, but not 100% sure about that
Hi Mario,
I changed the transmitter number to the RP0001 ending but was unable to login to CRA. It only recognizes when I login with the RZ0001 ending. With RZ, I can login but I get an error when I try to file. I have attached the error report with the client BN whited out. It seems like CRA only recognizes our login with the RZ ending?
It shows RR not RP I am not aware of RR
It could be RP0002, I would not know, you might be better off contacting CRA and ask them whats your account number. I have seen clients that had to use RZ0002 for filing T4A because the original RZ0001 number was associated with T5018 filings many years ago.
Correction: It could be RP0002, I would not know, you might be better off contacting CRA and ask then whats your account number. I have seen clients that had to use RZ0002 for filing T5 because the original RZ0001 number was associated with T5018 filings many years ago.
I am embarassed to say that I didn't realize the mistake in the client account number until your reply. RR is a registered charity (which this client is) but obviously for the T4A in ProFile we have to use the RP0001 ending. Once I fixed that, it was filed with no problem.
It is going to be a long tax season....
Thanks for your help!
Thanks, I am glad its resolved !
