Hi All,
If someone goes to university in the US in 2017 and pays for tuition fee but is a citizen of Spain, went to the US for studies. Later on, in 2019 got a PR for Canada and is immigrated to Canada. Can he claim the tuition fees paid during 2017-2019 in US on a Canadian return? If yes then how? Can he claim the interest he is still paying on the student loan on Canadian return? If yes then how?
Your response is much appreciated.
Thanks

You can only claim a credit for tuition fees paid after immigration to Canada. The tuition fees incurred before immigration cannot be carried forward. The interest on those non-eligible tuition fees is also not deductible.
