PROPER WAY TO FIX A RETURN AFTER ASSESSMENT

So, say you do a return, send it away but then Notice of Assessment changes something on the return and you must keep it as it's correct.

Do I go back to the return and fix the mistake and save again, so it gets carried forward properly and future viewing has the correct adjustments?

Or, do an adjustment then save as a different name, then use that adjusted return (with different name) to carry return forward to the next year?

Is anyone having problems with CRA entering names and addresses wrong???????  Then you try to prove it's their mistake but they say, you have to get the client to call us to fix it.  Soooooo many mistakes for 2023 processing.

PROPER WAY TO FIX A RETURN AFTER ASSESSMENT

I would make a backup copy of the return (in case I need to go back) , then make the changes/adjustments to the return . The when i carry forward next year, I would have the correct values or infos.
