Why are there such big gaps in the letter if the 'conditions' for a paragraph are not met. i.e. If the person does NOT have to make instalments, there is a huge gap after the paragraph before. There are gaps in between most of the statements of the letter, and it looks cheap. If I was a whiz at conditional programming, I'd fix it. But I'm not. The 'if's and 'end if's and 'else' are a little beyond me, without a bunch of studying up. Which I don't have time for right now.
Profile staff.......can you address this please? I do NOT have time to personalize every letter, and it's a huge waste of paper.
Thanks for the feedback, I will let the designers know about this issue. Unfortunately , there will be no more changes to the software for this year, so if you want to save time , I recommend that you call our helpline, I apologize for the inconvenience.
Mario, I hope you are mistaken about no more updates. Profile has informed us of an update, and you have informed us of another being released this week. I DO hope the letter is being addressed. No vacation for the developers just yet.....
Yes there is an exceptional update tomorrow for a fix related to the T1 summary printout, but there will be no changes to the client letter. There was some changes regarding the GST credit form this year, and that might explain the gaps that you are talking about. I recomment that you edit the template to make it as you wish.
As stated waaaaay back at the beginning.....I do not have time to figure out conditional formatting at this time of year. This is not my 'thing'. This is nothing to do with GST forms. The client may or may not qualify for GST. They may or may not qualify for child tax credits. They may or may not need to make instalments. They may or may not have to sign a T1032 or a T1135. This is a common problem on every single client letter. I have to open the letter on each return, determine if it's going to span more than 1 page for no good reason, and personalize it to get rid of as many gaps as I can.
And, by the way, getting rid of the deceased letter and making the regular letter look like the return is for someone else is not a great look either.
We've been with Profile basically from the beginning, and the price goes up and the quality goes down. Sad....
I have attached a client letter template at this link, let me know if you like it, thanks!
I'd love to have a look, but I cannot access it. Not sure why. I've used Google Docs before, but all I get is an access denied message. Can you share it a different way?
you should have access now
I have added 2 templates letters in my Google Drive The Client letter, and the Joint Client Letter, If someone wants the files feel free to request access at this link..

Again, Mario, I just get an 'access denied' message. Please share a different way so I can try it out. thanks!
I am sorry , I amunable to share afolder, please use these 2 links below:
To add to this... this letter is still a mess a month later at crunch time!!
The User1 customizable template carries the problems over, even when relevant sections are copied in pieces.
I have had to stop printing a client letter entirely.
ProFile, you can do better - this is so unprofessional. PLEASE FIX THIS LETTER!
Every tax year, some forms may or may not change in Profile. This year the GST form has changed, so the Default templates have changed to adjust for the changes. So anyone who has a customized template, has to pick the changes from the default tamplates and make some adjustment. The customized templates are meant to be adjusted each year when necessary. As per the gaps between the lines, I have provided these 2 link that should fix this. I hope that helps.
