we do not have an ETA at this time, it will depends when the software gets certified by CRA
Any update on when this will be available?
It all depends of when the forms will be certified by CRA, but it will not be in the release planned this week
Any news on this? Other software companies have approval for filing so I'm told.
S3 should be available by the end of march
So if I have T3 slips with capital gains, which report on Schedule 3, do I have to wait to file that return?
$6,000 in capital gains and $3,000 taxable capital gains.
Yes you have to wait for the update
Several other T1 Software providers have already received certified Schedule 3's with regards to the capital gains inclusion rates for the 2024 T1's and tax preparers have been able to efile returns that have capital gains since March 12th. I was just in a chat with someone named Vanessa from Profile who is blaming this on CRA. CRA has already done the fix and it is Profile dropping the ball here, it seems. I was told there is no estimated time for them to have this update completed. I wish they would be upfront and offer users a partial rebate to their paying clients!!
Yes, I also heard this. This kind of thing will make me consider changing tax software for the next tax season.
Come on Profile. Let's go, get this fixed.
Yes, Lolly. One of the providers that has already completed the fix offers basically the same services as Profile at less than half the price for a license!!
Can you provide the name of the tax software?
TAXCYCLE. The price is similar to Profile. Was created by the guy who sold Profile to Intuit. It was under Greenpoint before the sale. Bonus...you can carry forward master data from Profile to TaxCycle.
I believe VisualTax has their software updated as well. I am not familiar with them nor do I know what their cost is.
I see Mario of Profile posted on Tuesday that the S3 should be ready at the end of March. Pretty sad compared to Profile's competitors, if you ask me!
This is UNACCEPTABLE !!! You are NOT going to say firms like H&R block are NOT ABLE TO FILE !!!
Think it's time for a LOT of people to change providers if PROFILE CANNOT get their act together
Can we get an update from the Profile Team?!!
I'm losing long term Clients because of this delay!! End of March is probably Profile's best guess. If Programs are approved by CRA, it's supposed to be a first come first serve basis but we all know this is not how it works. Start putting pressure on the CRA because these are Taxpayers being penalized & there will be no compensation to them for a later filing when they've been ready for a couple of weeks.
I totally agree. But there are other tax preparers who are using different software & they are able to file Schedule 3's. This is totally unacceptable.
TurboTax for Windows has been Certified for Capital Dispositions 2024 but still not so for Profile
EFILE certified software for the 2025 EFILE program - Canada.ca
S3 should be available with the release 2024.3.7 scheduled for tomorrow.
