Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) in QuickBooks Online Advanced Payroll

Learn how to verify a test transaction made to your bank account.

You can verify the amount either by checking your bank statement online or by calling your bank. The charge will appear on the bank statement as either "QuickBooks: Verify Bank" or "Intuit: Verify Bank".

Intuit Online Payroll

Confirm the test transaction

  1. Click To Do then Confirm your Test Deposit.
  2. Enter the test transaction amount in both boxes (less than $1.00). Enter the pennies only, without a dollar sign or decimal point. For example, if the transaction amount in $0.42, you'd enter 42 into the boxes.
  3. Click OK.

QuickBooks Online Payroll Enhanced

Confirm the test transaction

  1. Select Employees or Payroll menu then Employees.
  2. Click Finish payroll tasks on the main Employees page.
  3. Click Verify the test deposit now.
  4. Enter the test transaction amount in both boxes (less than $1.00). Enter the pennies only, without a dollar sign or decimal point.
  5. Click OK.

If the there's no New payroll tasks button, here's another way to verify test transaction:

  1.     Select the Settings ⚙icon at the top, then choose Payroll Settings.
  2.     Under Bank Accounts, select Company.
  3.     Select Verify Account, then enter and confirm amount.

You only get one attempt to verify your test transaction. If you aren't successful, contact Payroll Support for assistance.

Intuit Full Service Payroll

Confirm the test transaction

  1. From the Home tab, click Complete tasks now.
  2. Click Confirm bank deposit.
  3. Enter the test transaction amount and click Save.

QuickBooks Online Payroll (all other versions)

Confirm the test transaction in QuickBooks Online Payroll Core, QuickBooks Online Payroll Premium, QuickBooks Online Payroll Elite, or QuickBooks Online Payroll Full Service.

  1. Select Payroll, then Overview.
  2. From your To Do List, select Let's Go on Check your account for a small deposit, then verify.
  3. Select Verify your account.
  4. Enter and confirm the amountof the test transaction from your bank account.

If the there's no New payroll tasks button, here's another way to verify test transaction:

  1.     Select Settings ⚙ then Payroll Settings.
  2.     Under Bank Accounts, select Company.
  3.     Select Verify Account, then enter and confirm amount.
