Manage billing, payment, and subscription info

Payment method requirements
You need a valid payment method to manage your subscription.
- Accepted methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, direct debit, PayPal, or Automated Clearing House (ACH).
- Billing address: You must use a US billing address (excluding US territories). This address doesn't need to match the physical billing address in your QuickBooks settings.
- Card limits: You can only use one card per payment.
View subscription or update payment profile
You can update your credit card expiration, billing address, or account name at any time.
- Select Settings âš™, then select Subscriptions and billing (Take me there).
- Review the information in each section.
- Go to Payment method and select Edit ✎.
- Perform one of the following actions:
- Change how you pay for QuickBooks Online (update expiration, address, or name).
- Add a new payment method.
- Switch to a previously used payment method.
- Save your changes.
Your updates will appear on the Subscriptions and billing page.
Notes:
- If you have QuickBooks Online bundled with QuickBooks Online Payroll, your credit card details update for both.
- If you use the Intuit Payment Wallet, you can add and receive payment methods for all your Intuit subscriptions.
- If you paid through Apple Billing, iTunes may charge a new card automatically when your card issuer updates your details.
Change your billing schedule
You an choose to pay monthly or save 10% with annual payments.
- Sign in to your QuickBooks Online account.
- Select Subscribe Now and complete the required details.
- In the subscription summary, select Annual Billing or Monthly Billing.
- Select Subscribe, then select Done.
When you switch plans, you will receive a refund for any unused portion of your old billing plan.
Important:
- If you switch from annual to monthly billing, you may need to wait 30 days before your next payment.
- If you have a payroll subscription, you can switch to annual billing for the payroll base fee but still be billed a monthly fee for each employee and additional states.
- To resubscribe in an inactive account, you must use the same payment method and billing frequency as before, but you can switch these after signing up again.
Download invoices
You can view the last 6 months of bills and download your Intuit invoice as a PDF file.
- Select Settings âš™, then select Subscriptions and billing (Take me there).
- Select View payment history.
- Find the invoice you want to download.
- Select Select invoice, then select Export to PDF.
- Sign in to your QuickBooks Online account.
Troubleshoot billing issues
- Error messages: If you see an error message or blank screen while updating details, ensure all fields for subscription and billing are entered correctly, including the billing address.
- Google Play subscriptions: You cannot cancel subscriptions purchased through the Google Play Store within the QuickBooks mobile app; you must cancel directly in Google Play.
- Expired cards: Charges may sometimes occur on expired cards; contact your bank or card issuer if you have concerns.
