
Manage billing, payment, and subscription info

Here’s how you update your credit card details on file, make changes to your subscription, or just view your billing history.

Note: You can't cancel subscriptions purchased through the Google Play Store on the QuickBooks mobile app. Instead, you’ll need to do so in Google Play.

Prerequisites
To sign up for QuickBooks Online, you’ll need:
- A payment method. This can be a credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or Discover), direct debit, PayPal, or Automated Clearing House (ACH).
- A US billing address (not including US territories) for your card. This doesn’t have to match the physical billing address in your QuickBooks settings.
You can only use one card per payment.
View your subscription or change your payment method
- Select Settings
, then select Subscriptions and billing (Take me there).
- Optional: Review the information in each section. Select View payment history to view the last 6 months’ bills.
- Go to Payment method and select Edit ✎. Here, you can:
- Change how you pay for QuickBooks Online. Update your credit card expiration, billing address, or account name.
- Add a new payment method for QuickBooks Online billing.
- Switch QuickBooks Online billing to a payment method used before.
- After you save your changes, you’ll see them on the Subscriptions and billing page.
Note: If you paid through Apple Billing, iTunes may charge a new card when your card issuer updates your details.
Change your billing schedule
- Sign in to your QuickBooks Online account.
- Select Subscribe Now and complete all the details required.
- In the subscription summary, select Annual Billing or Monthly Billing.
- When you switch your billing plan, you'll get money back for the unused portion of your old plan.
- If you switch from annual to monthly billing, you might need to wait 30 days before your next payment.
- If you have a payroll subscription, you can switch to annual billing for the payroll base fee. You'll get billed a monthly fee for each employee and additional states you run payroll for.
- Select Subscribe, then select Done.
Note: After you switch your billing plan, you’ll get a refund for any unused time on your old billing plan.
