Using a QuickBooks Online subscription purchased through a retailer

If you purchased a QuickBooks Online subscription through a retailer, visit the Quickbooks Online subscription activation page to set up and activate your account.

Once activated, use your User ID and Password to sign in and access your account.

Check your receipt page, activation card or confirmation email for the license and product numbers.

The product you’ve purchased comes with a 12-month subscription (15 months for Licenses purchased through Costco with the free additional months Promo), which becomes effective on the date of activation. When you renew, your subscription continues as a monthly billed subscription, or you can opt to change to annual frequency during your retail subscription period.

You’ll be charged the then-current monthly subscription price, plus applicable tax.

If you wish to purchase QuickBooks Online from a retailer, visit one of the following participating retail partners: Best Buy, Staples, Costco (online only) or Amazon.

The following options are currently available through retail channels: QuickBooks Online Simple Start, QuickBooks Online Essentials and QuickBooks Online Plus.

Yes, if not activated ahead of the expiry date. You can find the date printed on your voucher.

You’ll be prompted to renew your subscription prior to the end of your subscription. We recommend entering your payment information as soon as possible so that upon renewal, your payment will be made automatically.

  1. Select Settings
  2. Select Account and settings
  3. Select Billing and subscription

You’ll see the product you’ve purchased as well as when it is up for renewal. To capture your payment information, select the Renew button.
