Why is my batch deposit delayed or suspended?

Learn what to do if you have a suspended credit card batch deposit or past the regular deposit schedule.
QuickBooks Payments combines all of your credit card sales for the day into a single deposit. Your batch deposit depends on your deposit speeds. If your deposit takes longer than the standard schedule, here's what you can do.
Note: Deposit speeds depend on the product you're using and the type of payment. Credit card processing and bank transfers can also have different deposit speeds.
Step 1: Check the transactions in the batch
Check if the batch includes a refund, return, or credit. If so, don’t worry. Your money should be on its way. These transactions can sometimes delay a batch deposit for up to six calendar days if:
- They're from previous sales that you already deposited in your bank.
- Their total is more than the threshold for your business. For most businesses, the total return, refund, or credit in a single deposit shouldn’t be more than $100.
Step 2: Reach out to your bank
If you checked the payment status and we deposited the payments, your money is on its way.
However, some banks hold onto funds after we deposit them. At this point, you'll need to work with your bank if they require additional steps.
Step 3: See if your deposit is under review
We check accounts for unexpected transactions to help protect you and your customers. When a review happens, you'll get an email with details. This email has a link to the Resolution Center and will explain other steps.
When the Primary Admin signs in to the Resolution Center, they'll see any requests for documentation or cases under review. This is a safe place to upload documents requested.
Once you upload your docs, we'll review them within 2 business days. If you give us enough info, we'll release your funds within 1–2 business days. This process can take 3–4 days. We'll contact you if we have more questions.
Check if your batch deposit is in the Resolution Center
When a review occurs, you’ll receive an email with info about the review. It also includes a link to the Resolution Center if there are other steps to follow as part of the review.
Once a primary admin logs in to the Resolution Center, they’ll see what’s on hold and what info to submit or answer. This is also a secure place where you can upload any documents.

- Follow the detailed instructions in the email as soon as possible. Usually, we ask for some info about the deposit and your business to help speed up our review.
