Spot fake software
We want to alert you that there are unauthorized websites and resellers on ecommerce platforms that are selling fraudulent versions of QuickBooks Desktop software. Intuit no longer offers new subscriptions of QuickBooks Desktop Plus or QuickBooks Desktop Enhanced Payroll and no longer makes the non-subscription (sometimes referred to as Lifetime or perpetual license) versions of QuickBooks Desktop Pro, Premier, and Mac.
Therefore, any QuickBooks Desktop Plus or QuickBooks Desktop Pro, Premier, or Mac product found for sale online across any platform is not authorized by Intuit and is a fraudulent product. Do not purchase these unsupported products as they pose a security risk to both customer and financial data or result in fraudulent charges and unfulfilled orders. If you need to report any unauthorized parties selling fraudulent versions of QuickBooks software, please call 1-800-4-INTUIT.
Avoid technical support scams
Be aware of unauthorized parties attempting to impersonate Intuit tech support. Examples of fraudulent tech support include:
- Unexpected Communication: Unsolicited calls or emails claiming to represent Intuit as well as claims of non-existent tech issues such as malware or corrupted files. Intuit won’t reach out to you to fix a problem with your computer.
- Demand for Payment: Requests via email or phone with high-pressure tactics urging payments for services not requested, including phantom long-term subscriptions, and immediate computer access or financial transactions.
- Misleading Sources: Use of unofficial contact details such as non-Intuit emails, webpages, or phone numbers.
If you need to report any fraudulent encounters by unauthorized parties claiming to represent Intuit, please call 1-800-4-INTUIT.
QuickBooks Desktop Plus subscriptions give customers the same locally-installed Desktop experience they’re familiar with added features like:
- unlimited customer support (as defined in our support documentation)
- automated data backup and recovery
- access to the most recent updates of the software with the latest features and security patches.
While price increases are never easy, they’re necessary to deliver the products and services you need today and in the future. For QuickBooks Desktop, each year we focus on providing you access to a secure and reliable product that helps you run your business.
