Can't buy QuickBooks Desktop as a new US subscriber

QuickBooks Desktop isn't available to new subscribers in the United States. The deadline to purchase a new subscription was September 30, 2024.

What products does Intuit no longer sell and what is the effective date?

Intuit made a decision that after September 30, 2024, to stop selling new subscriptions of the following products:

• QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus
• QuickBooks Desktop Premier Plus
• QuickBooks Desktop Mac Plus
• QuickBooks Desktop Enhanced Payroll

This change doesn't impact existing subscribers. Existing QuickBooks Desktop Plus and Desktop Payroll subscribers can continue to renew their subscriptions after September 30, 2024*. We'll continue to provide security updates, product updates, and support for existing subscribers.

QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise products are not impacted by this change and customers can continue to purchase Enterprise subscriptions after September 30, 2024.

This decision for QuickBooks Desktop applies to the U.S. only.

Can I purchase QuickBooks Desktop software online?

No, after September 30, 2024 Intuit stopped selling QuickBooks Desktop software online. If you bought QuickBooks Desktop online from a vendor other than Intuit Inc., please call 1-800-4INTUIT so we can take action against the fraudulent site.

Are current subscriptions to QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus, Premier Plus, Mac Plus, and Desktop Enhanced Payroll going to be discontinued (sunset)?

This is applies to new purchases only. Existing subscribers of these products can continue to renew their subscriptions after September 30, 2024*. This only impacts new subscription purchases. We'll continue to provide security updates, product updates, and support for existing subscribers.

Can I renew a suspended QuickBooks Desktop Plus subscription?

Yes, you can renew your suspended QuickBooks Desktop Plus subscription.

How long do I have to resolve any billing or payment issues?

For any billing or payment issues, we notify you through email. Intuit provides a grace period of 30 days to renew your subscription after we send out the final notice.

Is QuickBooks Enterprise affected by this change?

No. QuickBooks Enterprise isn't affected by this decision. New and existing Enterprise customers can continue to purchase or renew subscriptions from phone sales agents and online after September 30, 2024.

QuickBooks Enterprise offers multiple software packages with payroll included. What happens if I am currently on an unsupported version of QuickBooks Desktop?

It’s important to remain on an active, supported version of QuickBooks Desktop. Otherwise, you won't have access to live technical support if you run into problems or have access to any of the other Intuit add-on services that can be integrated with QuickBooks Desktop. This includes QuickBooks Desktop Payroll, QuickBooks Desktop Payments, and online bank feeds. Unsupported versions also don't receive the latest critical security patches and updates.  

We encourage customers on standalone QuickBooks Desktop Pro, Premier, or Mac versions 2021 and older to consider moving to QuickBooks Online.
