You can use Screenshare to work with QuickBooks Support experts to help resolve issues, get guidance, or help with migrations. There are two primary methods for screen sharing, depending on your QuickBooks product and the type of support you need.
In-app screensharing for QuickBooks Online and Accountant using desktop
Use screen sharing when an Expert needs to view your QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Online Accountant screen. Screen shareoffers enhanced privacy, as Experts can only see your QuickBooks session. They can't view your desktop, browser tabs, or other applications.
Steps to begin screensharing
- From your QuickBooks Online account, go to Settings âš™ and then select Share screen under Tools.
You can also use the keyboard shortcut: Shift + Enter (Windows) or Command + Shift + Return (Mac). - Read the disclaimer and select Share. You can also select Deny if you don't want to share your screen.
- Provide the unique code shown on your screen to your support Expert so they can join the session.
Screenshare permissions and details
- Your Expert can only see the QuickBooks interface within your browser.
- They can use annotation tools to guide you and use Remote Assist to scroll on your behalf.
- You can end the session at any time by selecting Stop share.
Using the Intuit Meeting appÂ
This method is often used for QuickBooks Desktop issues or when migrating to QuickBooks Online. It requires downloading a different app that lets you share your whole desktop or a specific window.
Steps to use this method
- When requested by your QuickBooks Support expert, go to https://intuit.me/meet.
- Select the Download Intuit Meeting button to download the app.
- Install and launch the app.
- When prompted, select the QuickBooks product you need help with.
- Choose the screen you want to share (your entire screen or a specific application window).
- A unique code will appear. Give this code to your QuickBooks Support expert so they can join the session.
Privacy and security
- QuickBooks Support experts can't take over your desktop, mouse, or download and open files on your computer.
- If you share your whole desktop, your Expert can see everything on your screen and can help you resolve issues right away.
Ending a Screen share session
Once your issue is resolved, end the session by using the Stop share button. Or, close the Intuit Meeting app or browser window if it doesn't close automatically. If you continue to have issues, reconnect or contact support again.
