Enter your time in QuickBooks Online

Learn how to add and manage your time in QuickBooks Online. 

Note: You must first be invited to use QuickBooks Online as a time tracking only user.

Add time

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online using a mobile or web browser.
  2. Select Add time.
  3. Select a day you want to enter time on. 
    • If needed, change your week view by selecting This week, and choosing which week you’d like to view from the dropdown, or choosing custom dates. 
  4. Enter total hours, or select Start/end times to add start and end times. 
  5. Select Add work details to track specific items for that timesheet, like customers and service items. Select Done.
  6. To add another timesheet for the day, select Add
  7. When you’re done adding time, select Save, or Save and Close

Edit time

  1. Select View.
  2. Next to the timesheet you want to edit, select Edit.
  3. Make your changes and select Save

Delete time

  1. Select View.
  2. Next to the timesheet you want to delete, select ▼, then Delete.
  3. In the confirmation window, select Yes.
