View and print payroll tax forms

Learn how to view and print copies of your payroll tax forms (such as W-2, 941, 940, state withholding, and unemployment forms).

If we file your payroll forms for you

In full-service versions of QuickBooks Desktop Payroll, QuickBooks Online Payroll, and Intuit Online Payroll, Intuit prepares and files federal and state payroll tax forms for you.

Here's how to find and print copies of these forms if you need them. Note that your completed forms are available in your product 35 days after the end of the quarter or year.

  1. Go to the Employees menu and select Payroll Center.
  2. Select the File Forms tab, and then View/Print forms & W-2s.
  3. In the Payroll Tax Center window, enter your Payroll PIN. Then select OK.
  4. Select Filed Forms.
  5. Select the forms you want to view, print, or save.

  2. Select the Forms tab.
  3. Select the forms you want to view, print, or save.
  1. Go to the Taxes Records tab.
  2. Select a year to expand.
  3. Select the form you'd like to view, print, or save.

If you file your own payroll forms

QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, and Intuit Payroll Enhanced services let you create federal and state payroll tax forms. You submit them to the IRS and state agencies electronically or manually. You can print these forms immediately.
