Get a snapshot of your business finances in QuickBooks Online

SOLVEDby QuickBooks352Updated January 25, 2024

Learn how to view a snapshot of your business finances.

If you're looking for a quick snapshot of your business's health, look no further than your QuickBooks Online home page.

Your home page displays basic information on the current status of your income and expenses. These values change displaying a real-time overview of your company's finances.

In this article we'll quickly explain how these home page updates work.

If you connected a cash bank account, like a checking or money market, to QuickBooks Online, you'll see a home page balance from the most recent download QuickBooks performed. (So your actual bank balance might be different.)

If you have more than one cash bank account, you'll only see the balance for the first account you connect.

If you added a checking account manually, the balance you see on your home page will be from the transactions you enter. This means the balance is based on what you enter, not your actual bank balance.
