Account management

I appreciate you for sharing the details of your concern with me, @CMayo.

Allow me to grab this opportunity to help and share some insights on how to get around this issue. Let's start by updating your Windows 10 version to the latest release to isolate this. Also, ensure your new computer meets the system requirements  of the migration to work.

Once done, perform the migration process again. If the issue persists, we'll have to manually move your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) Pro 2020 software. Here’s how:

  1. Install your QBDT software to the new computer.
  2. Create a backup company file from your company.
  3. Restore it to the new one.
  4. Then download the latest tax table after moving your company file.

You can also utilize this link for more details about the process: Move your company files to another computer.

I’d also encourage reaching out to our Support team. From there, they can firmly check your account and investigate the reason for the migration tool fail. They can also further assist you with the migration process. Here’s how:

  1. Click the Help menu..
  2. Go to QuickBooks Desktop Help.
  3. Click Contact Us.
  4. Enter a brief discussion of your concern, then click Continue.
  5. Select either Message an Agent (if you prefer chat) or Talk to a Specialist

Furthermore, I’m adding this link that can guide you on how to handle the situation in case you’d encounter some errors while installing QBDT to your new computer: Fix QuickBooks Desktop install errors .
