Account management
Hello, stitchdoctor@fro.
I'll share the steps and details on how you can get the migration tool to go back to the Desktop version.
The migration tool can be accessed by changing the URL for QuickBooks Online in your browser.
- Sign in to QuickBooks Online using a supported web browser.
- In the URL bar, replace anything after /app/ with exportqbodatatoqbdt (it should look like this: https://app.qbo.intuit.com/app/exportqbodatatoqbdt).
- On the Export overview screen, click the Get Started button.
- Click the Download tool button to download migration tool.
- After downloading, launch the installer and run it.
- Follow the prompts to complete the installation process.
Now, we'll want to go back to QuickBooks and prepare the export process for migration. For the full steps and details in moving your data to the Desktop version, we can take a look at this article as a guide: Move your QuickBooks Online data to QuickBooks Desktop.
Let's keep in mind that there will be some data that won't be exported back to QuickBooks Desktop. This article will explain the details of those limitations: Learn how features and data move from QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Desktop.
We can verify and check your data after the migration process. If you need a refresher on running reports, we can take a look at this article: Understand reports.
Please let me know if there's anything else I can do for you regarding the migration process. If you need help entering some of your entries in the Desktop version, add the details to your reply and I'll see what I can do. I'll see you again in the Community space.
