How do I get my mileage from my phone to show up online? It isn't going automatically.

I just started using the mileage tracker and my miles from yesterday are not on the website.

Hi floc307643,

Thank you for informing us that your mileage details are not flowing in the QBO browser interface. Let's see if this is caused by issues with your cached data.

We can start by signing in to QBO using a private browser. This step disables the extensions and loads up QuickBooks pages without reusing the data from your cache. Therefore, everything comes directly from our server. To open a private browser, press Ctrl Shift P for MS Edge or Firefox, Ctrl Shift N for Chrome, and Shift + ⌘ + N for Safari.

If the mileage entries show up, you’ll want to go back to your regular browser and clear the cache. However, if it’s the same thing, please try another browser to isolate the issue.

Feel free to reach back out if you need further assistance with your mileage entries. I'm just right here to continue helping you.

Turns out I just needed to wait.  Yesterday's mileage didn't show up until after 9AM today, which, to me, is unacceptable.

Why can it not show up right after I end the trip?!

Thank you for getting back to the thread, @floc307643.

Allow me to join in this conversation and provide you with further insights about mileage tracking in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE).

I definitely understand how important it is for your business to track business trips in real time. Please know that QuickBooks automatically detects and tracks your work trips from start to finish while using the app.

If there are delays, here are some things to check to make sure the mileage data sync instantaneously on your device.

  • Check the location settings on your device. If you don't allow the app to run in the background, it will only track trips when it's open and active on your screen.
  • Your trip won’t record correctly if your phone is connected to a Wi-Fi network while you’re driving. Make sure your device tracks accurately by turning off the Wi-Fi setting before your trip. Then after your trip, you can reconnect your Wi-Fi.
  • Android devices give you the option to restrict battery and data usage. When these settings are turned on, they can interfere with the accuracy of QuickBooks Self-Employed GPS mileage tracking. You can turn your off background data and battery restrictions to avoid delays.
  • Make sure the app is updated to the latest version.

In case you forgot your device on a trip or didn't turn it on, you can always enter the mileage yourself in QBSE.

Thanks, but recording the trips is not the problem.  The problem is with getting the recorded trips to the website.  Yes I know how to set up my phone to record trips.  Autotrack is worthless by the way.  If I stop during a trip for any longer than a minute or two, it ends the trip.  Ridiculously annoying.  I use the manual trip start and stop and it just works.  Then I can see it on my phone but it does not show up online for hours (this time it wasn't until 9am the next day).  Yes my phone is set up correctly, using all the guides.

THIS is the answer I was looking for!  Well, not exactly, but but it clearly responds to my question, unlike all the other canned answers from the “community.”  Thank you.
