While you can Download the software for free, you are supposed to Buy it, to own it, and get a License. The Product Code will "install" the software based on the "edition" you bought.

I purchased Qbooks POS v18 yesterday. Your company emailed me my 2 license numbers with no download link. I had to get with support and did get an email link to download, but now I need a product code to install. why are all the email sent with no-reply.. why wouldn't you want to allow people / customers to ask simple questions. Oh and your phone system robot is amazingly stupid.

- Go to the Help menu.
- Select QuickBooks Desktop Help.
- In the Have a Question window, click Contact us at the bottom portion of the screen.
- Click Search for something else.
- Type in a keyword about your concern.

I'm in the same situation (had to reinstall QBP2017 on new VM) but I can't get past the setup window. It's telling me my license # and/or product # are incorrect - which is incorrect, since I've used those numbers to install the application multiple times over the past few years due to hardware failures/upgrades.
What do I do if I can't get to the QuickBooks Desktop Help menu?

Since you'll need to get your license number and product code for the setup process, you can go directly to our support site.
Just perform the steps below to get in touch with our Desktop Support.
- Click this link: https://help.quickbooks.intuit.com/en_US/contact.
- Choose QuickBooks Desktop for your product.
- Be sure to click the Continue as a guest tab.
- Select your Desktop version.
- Choose QuickBooks Setup & Navigation, then click Activate QuickBooks.
- Tap the Start a Message tab.
You will be routed to a chat window wherein you need to provide some information. Just make sure to fill in the fields with an asterisk (*) before clicking Submit.

Let's double-check and make sure we're using the correct product code. Below are the ways on how to get your product code for your QuickBooks Desktop:
- If you bought QuickBooks Desktop from our website: Look in the purchase confirmation email you received from us.
- If you bought QuickBooks from a retail store: Look for the brightly colored sticker on the original CD envelope.
Another way to check your license and the product number is through this link: License and product numbers.
If the numbers are correct and the same thing happens, we can download the QuickBooks Tools Hub and run QuickBooks Install Diagnostic Tool. This help fix and close any open background processes that QuickBooks uses. Sometimes the background processes cause QuickBooks to not accept a product number.
Here’s how:
- Download the most recent version (1.4.0.0) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub.
- Save the file somewhere you can easily find it.
- Open the file you downloaded (QuickBooksToolHub.exe).
- Follow the on-screen steps to install and agree to the terms and conditions.
- Double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub.
Once done, please proceed to these steps below:
- From the Tool Hub, then select Installation Issues.
- Select QuickBooks Install Diagnostic Tool. It can take up to 20 minutes.
- When the tool finishes, restart your computer.

- Go to camps.intuit.com and enter your credentials in the field.

If you didn't register or can't find your product number, you may use our QuickBooks License Look Up tool. Just enter your business email or phone number, and it will be sent to your email.
