The product key and license number are unique for each QuickBooks product. The 2012 product key will not work for your QuickBooks 2020.
As mentioned by @MaryLandT, you can look for the information from the purchase confirmation email. If the software was purchased from a retail store, check the brightly colored sticker on the original CD envelope.
Once you have the information, install QuickBooks on your computer. Perform the recommended steps in these articles.
