QBD 2022 discontinuation question
Hey Folks, hoping someone can help me better understand what exactly the impacts to users are for the upcoming QBD 2022 discontinuation (in May 2025).
The official statement: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-ca/help-article/feature-preferences/quickbooks-deskto...
There are two statements in there that seem to be conflicting, but I also may be misreading. Hoping someone can help make it clear (emphasis mine):
- After May 31, 2025, access to add-on services will be discontinued for QuickBooks Desktop 2022 for Windows. This includes all 2022 versions of QuickBooks Desktop Pro, Premier, Enterprise Solutions, and Accountant Edition 2022.
- Your access to QuickBooks Desktop 2022 software will be discontinued after May 31, 2025. This also means you won't receive critical security updates starting June 1, 2025. If you receive any security updates before this date, install them.
So is it the access to add-on services that is removed (item 1), or is it access to QBD 2022 in general (item 2)?
Appreciate any insight here. Thank you!

Hi cpoff,
Thanks for reaching out to us here. Welcome! On May 31st 2025, addon services for QuickBooks Desktop 2022 will be discontinued. This includes Payroll, Payments and Online bank feeds. In addition, you'll no longer receive live technical support, should any issues or concerns arise. To continue with the valuable features offered in your QuickBooks Desktop product, I recommend updating QuickBooks to the latest release.

Other Questions
They should fix the wording. You can still run QB Desktop 2022 after May 2025 without add-ons and updates.

I sincerely hope I will have access to my data - I have no need for payroll, online banking, support … just recently access was completely blocked to my data because my subscription was cancelled as part of a process to go with QB Online - which proved to be a colossal fail.
