Thanks for joining the thread, @stregan. It's my priority to guide you with some troubleshooting steps to ensure your 10-digit payroll PIN auto-populates in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

Since you've not upgraded your subscription, it's possible that you've restored your company file, that's why your 10-digit e-file PIN isn't automatically populating. That said, I recommend re-entering it manually. If you no longer have access to your 10-digit PIN, you can reach out to the IRS to request a new one.

If the issue persists after re-entering it, we can repair your company file using the Rebuild Data tool. Here's how:

  1. Go to the File menu, select Utilities, then Rebuild Data.
  2. Click OK on the QuickBooks Information window. Follow the onscreen steps to save a backup.
  3. Wait for the tool to repair your file. Once done, select OK.
  4. Go to the File menu, click Utilities, then Verify Data.
  5. Let the tool check your file for data issues.

Furthermore, you can run a payroll summary report to get a quick overview of your payroll totals.
