Thanks for joining the thread, @stregan. It's my priority to guide you with some troubleshooting steps to ensure your 10-digit payroll PIN auto-populates in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
Since you've not upgraded your subscription, it's possible that you've restored your company file, that's why your 10-digit e-file PIN isn't automatically populating. That said, I recommend re-entering it manually. If you no longer have access to your 10-digit PIN, you can reach out to the IRS to request a new one.
If the issue persists after re-entering it, we can repair your company file using the Rebuild Data tool. Here's how:
- Go to the File menu, select Utilities, then Rebuild Data.
- Click OK on the QuickBooks Information window. Follow the onscreen steps to save a backup.
- Wait for the tool to repair your file. Once done, select OK.
- Go to the File menu, click Utilities, then Verify Data.
- Let the tool check your file for data issues.

Furthermore, you can run a payroll summary report to get a quick overview of your payroll totals.
