When Windows 11 recent update installed on my computer, then Profile does not launch.
Had to uninstall the Windows 11 update and the Profile would launch. Once the computer restarts, it wants to installed the same update.
Once installed, then Profile does not launch. What needs to be done to allow for the Windows 11 update and to have Profile working?
I worked with Profile support and ended up with the following:
Windows 11 recent update KB5018341 which automatically updates if your Windows update is on, is the update that is the problem.
To get Profile to work, uninstall Windows 11 KB5018341 update; then disable Windows Auto Updates in your Windows 'services.msc' folder. Profile will run after the uninstall.
Hopefully Profile will provide a solution that will allow for the normal Windows 11 updates to be installed as well as have Profile run at the same time. We shouldn't have to disable Windows updates.
Thanks @Nimble1001 , we are looking into it
Has this been fixed? If so, please advise steps to launch Profile in Windows 11.
Thanks
Hi, I have seen some cases where Profile would not launch in Windows 11. In all these cases I have seen, the issue seemed to be a windows 11 update about the .net framework. Usually, we uninstall the .net framework completely, then re-install it. In some instances, we had to uninstall the windows update related to .net framework and let windows reinstall theis update at next reboot.
Just as a follow-up to my post - Once you move to Windows 11, there is an update that needs to be done to Windows 11. Once that update is complete Profile will work again.
Cheers!
I tryied Mario's idea and it failed!
On my computer, I did the additional update overnight and rebooted it the next day...all was working perfectly.
Did you reboot? Did you run the extra update?
Today, I refund the computer with windows 11 pro and change another brand new computer which is windows 11 home. We update the System to the lastest version (22h2). The problem still exist.
So:
After I test with 3 brand new computer, the result is (all computer is updated to the lastest version):
Profile cannot launch on windows 10&11 pro 22h2.
Profile can launch on windows 10 pro before 22h2 update.
Profile cannot launch on Windows 11 home 22h2.
I've updated to none of updates popup.
What's name of your extra update?
[Solved]
I find the reason. Now I can use the Profile.
Mario is right, but half right.
uninstall the .net framework completely, but DO NOT re-install, just delete it. The update version number is KBxxxxxx7119, just delete this one.
I am using this;
Windows 11 Home operating system
Version 22H2 (OS Build [removed])
It was effortless for me! Good Luck with your upgrade!
I also just realized that I have the updated Profile License for 2023 on my computer prior to the Windows upgrade....if that makes a difference I don't know...
