The Climate Action Incentive (CAI) will be delivered as a quarterly benefit (vs. annual in the previous years), starting in July, 2022.
Would it be possible to Profile to show the annual and quarterly CAI payments at the bottom of the T1 Summary?
Right now the T1 Summary shows GST/HST, Provincial Tax Credit and Child Tax Benefit—Annual and Quarterly / Monthly.
I know that my clients (and I) would appreciate such information about the Climate Action Incentive, too!
Hi, thank you for using Intuit ProFile Community
That is a great idea but, the e-file version, 2021.3.0 does not have that. The version is now in testing and we cannot implement changes for new ideas. What I can recommend is using the send feedback app in the ProFile help menu. Although there is no feedback to users, product development does monitor submissions from the feedback app.
Hope this helps
I just copied and sent it via Help/Send Feedback. Perhaps other should do the same-I KNOW it's a very important feature, as all clients always want to know how much money they're going to get.
This is needed as the S14 - Climate Action does not print in full from save as PDF
Thanks for the questions and comment , I will let the Designers know

Indeed, schedule 14 does not print in full. However, even if it printed in full, it still does not show the quarterly payments. I guess I will have to either verbally tell people how much they're going to get every quarter, or just write the amounts on the T1 Summary (as I do not give my clients "Client Letters"-I find the T1 Summary much superior and transparent).
Also, in Ontario, some seniors qualify for the Property Tax Grant of up to $500. I wish the amount were printed on the T1 Summary as well. After all, the T1 Summary is NOT an official, CRA-approved form and Profile could (and should) make is as user-friendly as possible.
You can see all Federal and Provincial Credits including the CAI by typing "Letter or Joint letter in box beside Form Exployer icon (Menu) bar. Print the letter for your client. Often clients ask me what credits the have. When they pickup their returns I am prepared to answer their questions and give them the letter showing credits as well a wealth of information pertaining to their returns including refunds, balance due, installment payments Child Benefits etc.

Jack - one of the major issues is that no one knows precisely how much the CAI will actually be. There were rumours early on that the base would be $600 for 2021 as opposed to $490 for 2020 tax return. Profile is using the 2020 figure in the letter but does say it's only an estimate.
This change is really causing problems with some tax clients who have enjoyed the extra $420 - 490 refund in the spring and are shocked that nothing forthcoming until July. I've also had to warn employees of bookkeeping clients that this has changed. Can't say anyone is impressed.

CRA has info page now -
Also Intuit Profile includes 'estimate' calculation at the bottom of the T1Summary
I agree this is upsetting with people owing $200-$300 - mostly lower income people that could do with a small refund instead of waiting to get it back over the next year.
Thanx for the update, JWillisBarrie. I'll pass that on to everyone so no surprises come July.
Allan Pilon: I realize that it’s possible to personalize the “Letter” or “Joint Letter”, but I have never used them-I prefer to attach the T1 Summary as the cover page and highlight the refund/balance owing, GST/HST credits and provincial credits. In addition, the T1 Summary contains other important information. I guess it’s just my preference!
Jrbooks: I have been telling clients that they will receive AT LEAST the same amount they did last year, but in 4 quarterly payments. So they should be pleasantly surprised when they'll get more!
Jwillisbarrie: Thanks for the update, I really appreciate it.
Re CAI 2021: Just give the the letter that comes with Profile. It will give taxpayer a better estimate than last year's CAI. Also, only one spouse can receive credit in household. I ask CRA and they stated "whoever" gets processed first will receive the CAI, which is more than last, when I completed Schedule 14 Ontario. However, it will show on both taxpayer & spouse returns, but does not show fully the calculations you see in Profile S14 when printed.
Prepared of Ontario & Quebec tax returns
