Employees and payroll
Thanks for coming back, nickli.
I appreciate you for providing us with a screenshot of the error message. This helps us provide the right troubleshooting steps to get this payroll issue resolved. We'll have to unmark the Use Direct Deposit box. Then, reupload your payroll data to get this fixed. Let me walk you through the steps.
- In your QuickBooks Desktop, go to the Employees menu.
- Select Employee Center, then choose the employee affected on the list.
- Locate and open the paycheck, then click Paycheck Detail...
- On the employee's paycheck, unmark the Use Direct Deposit box.
- Click Save & Close and resend payroll data.
Once done, do the same steps for the rest of the affected employees. If it doesn't work, we'll need to send out a zero payroll and see if you're able to successfully send it. To do this, follow the steps below:
- Uncheck & remove all Direct Deposit (DD) information for affected employees.
- Send a zero payroll, then enter fake bank information.
- Create a $1.00 paycheck, then Send data.
- Void the check and Send data.
- Enter the correct DD info again for affected employees.
- Create a new paycheck, then Send data.
If you can send the payroll data, you're good for the next payroll. I've got some articles here for more troubleshooting solutions on how to fix sending payroll data issues:
- Troubleshoot Payroll Service Server Error or Payroll Connection Error
- Error: QuickBooks has encountered a problem sending your usage data
