HOW DO I MAKE AN INACTIVE ACCOUNT ACTIVE AGAIN i HAVE DUPLICATED A DEPOSIT RECEIVED FROM A CLIENT AND NEED TO DELETE IT

Welcome to the Community, bjallen.

I’ll guide you through the process of how to reactivate an account in QBO. Let’s go to the Chart of Accounts page to accomplish this task.

Here’s how:

  1. In your company, tap the Accounting menu on the left panel and select Chart of Accounts.
  2. This will open a page that lists all your accounts.
  3. Click the Gear icon ⚙ above the Action column and tick the box for Include inactive.reactivate acct.png
  4. Look for the account you want to use again and select Make active.

Once done, you can now delete the duplicate deposit. Check out this article for detailed instructions. It provides information on when to void or completely delete an entry: Void or delete transactions in QuickBooks Online.

You can bookmark this link for additional resources. It contains topics about managing accounts in your chart of accounts: Learn about the chart of accounts in QuickBooks.
