How do I remove a payee when QuickBooks has automatically assigned a payee?

I'm attempting to record a transaction and I do not want to select a payee as it was a multiple transfer and as such, has a lot of different payees.

QuickBooks keeps reverting it back to a wrong payee. How can I remove it?

Let me help you go over the automation setting, and make the Pre-fill forms with previously entered content disabled.

 

Here's how: 

  1. At the top right, click the Gear icon.
  2. Select Account and Settings.
  3. On the left pane, select Advanced.
  4. Go to Automation.
  5. Unselect the Pre-fill forms with previously entered content checkbox.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Hit Done.
