Thanks for coming here with us today, wbta-treasurer.

I can help you can recover a deleted bank account in QuickBooks Online.

Once a bank account is deleted, this will become inactive in your Chart of Account. As an initial step to restore this, you'll need to make it active again. I'd be happy to show you the steps below:

  1. Go to Accounting and choose Chart of Accounts.
  2. In the Chart of Accounts table, click the Gear icon.
  3. Put a check mark in the Include Inactive box.
  4. Find the specific account you like to restore and click the Make active.

Since QuickBooks can only restore 60 days old transactions after you activated a deleted account, you'll want  to go back and review your transactions from your bank register.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Accounting page.
  2. Select Chart of Accounts.
  3. Find your bank account.
  4. Under the ACTION column, click View register.

I'm leaving this guide on accessing your bank's register for more information.

For transactions that are beyond 60 days, you'll have to download from your bank's website and manually upload them in QBO.

Here's an article you can read to learn more about uploading your banking transactions: How to Upload More Than 90 Days of Bank Transactions?

After downloading your transactions, here's how you can upload them:

  1. Go to the Banking page.
  2. Click the Update drop-down menu.
  3. Choose File Upload.
  4. Hit Browse.
  5. Select your downloaded banking transactions file/s.
  6. Click Next and the Finish.

This way, you'll be able to restore and review your banking transactions. Just go to the For Review tab in the Banking Page. And then manually add or match your transactions.

I'll be always around to lend you a  helping hand if you have any other questions about your banking transactions. Have a great day!
