My bank keeps asking to re-connect straight away.

My bank keeps asking to re-connect straight away. I do that; and it still shows the same re-authentication error. It’s Unity Trust Bank.

Please help, or we’ll need to request a refund and move to a genuine accounting product. The lack of support is appalling, to be quite frank.

My bank keeps asking to re-connect straight away.

It's not the experience we want you to have, Miranda. I recognise that dealing with connection issues between your Unity Trust Bank account and QuickBooks Online (QBO) has been challenging and time-consuming for you. I'll help you resolve this problem effectively.

Before proceeding, is there any specific error message when reconnecting your bank account to QBO? This information will help us provide appropriate responses.

Moreover, it's possible that your bank is undergoing system maintenance. Therefore, we recommend contacting Unity Trust Bank directly to check if there are ongoing connectivity problems with QBO. Doing so will help you gather essential information to fix possible issues and ensure a smooth integration between your bank account and QuickBooks.

We also suggest using the correct bank website URL when reconnecting your account to the program. Let me guide you on how:

  1. Go to Transactions and select Bank transactions.
  2. Click Link account. (You don't need to add an account, just the listed URL)
  3. Search and select your bank and copy the URL listed for your it.
  4. Sign in to your bank or credit card's website using the copied URL.

Once you're in, check your account page for messages or announcements about new security requirements. If you recently updated anything on your bank’s website, like your account number, username, or password, update that info in QuickBooks too. For more details, please see this article: Troubleshoot unknown bank and transaction errors.

Once everything is all set, I encourage you to review your downloaded bank and credit card transactions and ensure you put them in the correct accounts. Here's an article you can refer to: Set up bank rules to categorise online banking transactions in QBO.

Ensuring your bank account is reliably connected to QBO is our top priority, Miranda. Please keep us updated on your progress as you work through the steps provided. Whenever you encounter any difficulties, please don't hesitate to reach out immediately. Stay safe!

My bank keeps asking to re-connect straight away.

Thanks so much for your initial response, I've tried your steps to no avail.

To be clear, it adds my bank accounts and then shows the "needs attention" on my dashboard, whereby the error's I see switch between:

Your Unity Trust Bank (UK) account consent has lapsed

Reauthenticate your Unity Trust Bank (UK) connection. (350)

and

Reconnect your accounts

Looks like some of your accounts got unlinked. Sign in to {providerName} in the window we open, then confirm the accounts you need. (352)

BUT I've only just authenticated, and I've tried authenticating all of them again with no luck; furthering this I've also checked the bank's end and there's nothing for me to action, oddly.

My bank keeps asking to re-connect straight away.

We can use a private or other supported browser to connect your bank to QuickBooks Online (QBO), Miranda. Let me help you accomplish this.

To begin, Errors 350 and 352 in QuickBooks Online (QBO) indicate issues with bank feeds. Error 350 happens when the connection to your bank or credit card account expires or gets updated by your bank, requiring re-authentication. Meanwhile, Error 352 shows that some bank accounts have been unlinked from QBO, necessitating reconnection through the Banking tab.

Since you already authenticated your bank account and it still prompts you with the same error message, let's utilize the other browsers to see if this is related to browser issues. Afterward, let's reconnect it again by following these steps:

  1. Go to Transactions, select Bank Transactions.
  2. Select the bank or credit card account you want to reconnect.
  3. Select Edit, then click Edit sign-in info.
  4. Confirm the user ID and password you use to sign in to your bank's website, then click Save and connect.
  5. If you reconnect it successfully, you'll see a Connection Complete and transactions updated! prompt.
  6. Select Close X.

Once your bank account is connected and transactions are downloaded, you can review and categorize  your transactions to ensure they are accounted for properly.

Please keep us updated as you reconnect your bank to QBO using other browsers available to you, Miranda. We'll be sure to keep an eye on this.

Thank you very much for your reply.

I’ve tried the steps you’ve provided, and whilst they make sense in theory, and thank you for the support articles, I actually touch base with our bank and after a lot of back-and-forth, they’ve confirmed that there’s an error with the open banking system for certain accounts/banks.

I hope that this is rectified but for anybody That reads this with regards to unity bank, please reach out to them directly as they’ll be able to give you an exact ETA for the fix for your particular account.

thank you everybody that replied!
