I want to delete my account I don’t need it

Hello there, @shannanforster24.

There are two possible accounts that you can delete based on your scenario. Let me sort this out so you'll be able to successfully delete your account.

If you're referring to your bank account that's connected to the online banking feature, you need to disconnect the bank connection first before deleting it in your Chart of Accounts. This action requires you to inactivate the account so QuickBooks will hide it from the list.

After disconnecting your account to online banking, you can delete the account by performing these steps:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Chart of Accounts.
  3. Find the account you want to delete.
  4. Click on the drop-down arrow beside View register, then select Make inactive.
  5. Select Yes to confirm.

Kindly refer to the screenshots below for your visual reference.

To view your inactive account, just select the Gear icon at the top of the list in your Chart of Accounts, then click the Include inactive checkbox.

Moreover, if you're referring to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account itself,  you can delete it by cancelling your subscription. This way, you'll not be billed moving forward. Before you cancel, I'd recommend printing your forms and reports for future use.

Once you're ready to cancel, log in to your QBO account and follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Account and Settings.
  3. Choose  the Billing & Subscription tab.
  4. In the QuickBooks section, select Cancel.
  5. Select the Continue to cancel button.
  6. Complete the short survey.
  7. Click the Confirm cancel button.

I've attached screenshots below to show you the first to fourth steps.

If you wish to know what will happen to your QBO data after you end your subscription, you can check out this article: What happens to my QuickBooks Online data after I cancel?. It provides complete information about the availability of your data and export policies after the process.

Please let me know if you have other concerns. I'm just around to help.
