Accidently deleted a transaction from a reconciled month

I have a solution to help you reverse a deleted transaction in QuickBooks Online, @rcvtreasurer1.

When a transaction that has been reconciled is deleted, you'll have to first review the Audit Log to take note of the transaction details, and recreate it.

To find the deleted transaction, here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Audit Log.
  2. On the Filter drop-down select the right user, date, and events.
  3. Locate the deleted transaction.
  4. When you locate the deleted item, click View.
  5. You'll see all the information needed for the transaction under the Event section.
  6. Use those details to re-enter the transaction with its original date.

Once done, manually reconcile the transaction by going to your account register.

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Search for the account where the transaction is posted. Then, click Account History.
  3. Click the transaction to expand the view.
  4. Select or keep clicking the box in the checkmark column until you see an R. This manually reconciles the transaction.
  5. Then, hit Save.

I've added here an article that'll guide you in case you encounter reconciliation issues: Fix issues when you're reconciling accounts.
