Hi warren-elliott26,

Thanks for reaching out. Once the GST centre is set up in a QuickBooks file we cannot remove the need to select a GST code. If you do not have anything else set up you could open a new file and not 'turn on GST' in the GST Tab.

Alternatively, you can set your Default Tax Rate to Out of Scope by:

  • Navigating to Settings
  • Select Company Settings
  • Under Advanced select Accounting > Default Tax Rate Selection
  • Set to Out of Scope and Save

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks,

Rebecca
