Out of scope transactions showing in sales?

Purchase a property so there were several large transactions including loan deposits, GST refund etc.  Used out of scope GST code (sales) and found these transactions appeared in my sales.  I have changed to out of scope purchases which help, but doesn't really solve the problem as they will now show in purchases?  Any way around this?

Out of scope transactions showing in sales?

Hello Dandee,

Thanks for posting in the Community space. It's good to hear you were able to correct the GST code of the sales transaction you have recorded in QuickBooks Online. To be able to check the GST codes applied to your transactions, I would recommend running the Transactions by Tax Code report. You'll see all purchases and sales coded transactions from there.

Here's how:

  1. Click on the Reports tab.
  2. On the search tab, type in Transactions by Tax Code.
  3. Set a Report period and click on Run report.

From here, review your transactions and make sure you have set them to the correct GST code. Kindly double check also the Category used on the transaction like if it is using an income or expense account.
