Dulpicate invoices when clients pay using Paypal via our website shop

I've been raising an invoice manually, but we end up with duplicate invoices. What am I doing wrong?

Dulpicate invoices when clients pay using Paypal via our website shop

Hi robin-philbrick,

If you have the Accept Card Payments with PayPal app integrated with QuickBooks and/or PayPal set up as a bank feed, when a payment is recorded this should come through your feed to be matched to the invoice you have created. If you are recording the bank transaction as a sales receipt or so on instead of matching it to the invoice you have already created, you will see duplications.

If you have the older Accept Payments with PayPal app that syncs data between PayPal and QuickBooks Online, you may not need to create the invoices manually. The steps you need to take depend specifically on what integration you have set up. You may wish to reach out to the Support Team so they can get eyes on what you are doing and ensure nothing has been lost in translation; they can review your set up and the steps you are taking and advise how best to proceed. You can also contact them by:

  1. In your QuickBooks Online, click the Help menu in the upper-right corner.
  2. Select Contact us and enter the details of your concern.
  3. Click Let's talk and choose Chat or Get a callback.
  4. Enter the required information.
