Invoice line items

Hi,

When I prepare an invoice I rearrange the line items to make more logical sense to the client. However when I preview the invoice the line items always show in their original place.

How can I get the invoice to show/print in the order that I put the line items in?

Hope this makes sense!

Thanks.

Invoice line items

I'll share some insights about how QuickBooks populates the data on your sales forms, rbtservices.

It's not uncommon for the line items to appear differently on the printed form compared to what you see on the invoice entry screen. This is because the program organizes them based on their service dates, and it does so in chronological order.

Items with earlier service dates will be listed before those with later dates. However, if you remove those details, the transaction will print accordingly. I've added a screenshot below for your visual reference.

However, if the service date is turned off, I recommend accessing your account using a private window. This way, we can determine whether this is a browser cache-related issue. The cache helps web pages to load quickly. However, excessive of it can lead to problems that impact the system's performance.

Here are the keyboard shortcuts:

  • Safari: Command + Shift + N
  • Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + N

If it works, clear the browser's cache. Doing so deletes all the data from your browser and optimizes its performance. Using other supported browsers also helps us verify if this is a browser-specific issue.
