What suggestions do you have for entering a Sales Invoice into QBO which has Selling Expenses on the Same Invoice? i.e Cattle Sales with Transport Costs

Hi usergabrielle,

Great question, can I please confirm that what we are trying to achieve here is creating an invoice for your customer which in this case is for Cattle Sales and on the same invoice for the same customer we want another line item to charge/expense them for the Transport Costs involved?

Please let us know,

Thank you,

Kay.

Hi,

Yes I am entering a cattle sales invoice with negative lines for selling expenses but the issue is when doing the BAS due to the negative lines and GST on expenses the amount at G1 is incorrect. so wondering how else you could enter to avoid this?

I've attached the invoice below.

Hi UserGabrielle,

Thank you for getting back to us.

For income and expense categorisation, it is best to consult with an accounting professional. You can find QuickBooks Online Certified accountants and bookkeepers in your area by clicking on the link below:

I would recommend taking the expense line out of the invoice as it should have been created as an expense transaction, but please check with your accountant.

Thank you and please let us know if you have any questions.
