When setting up an invoice for a customer, the printed version is different from the one on screen. Is there a fix or workaround for this?

In most invoices it is important to have the correct order of lines, for customers to understand their charges and to see like things together. At the moment, the lines set on screen are rearranged when printing. Currently I have to take a pdf copy and put it into edit mode and manually move the information around. I can't then send out the invoice from QBO either so I have no tracking.

Hello there, dorretti. I'd like to help you more effectively. However, I need more details about your concern regarding this printing issue.

Would you mind sharing more details about your issue? What specific lines of the invoices are not being in order when printing invoices? Is it with the item or detail lines, alphabetical order, date lines or something else? Any additional information or a screenshot is much appreciated to help us get on the same page.

In the meantime, you can try logging into your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account using an incognito window and try printing your invoices from there to see is this is a browser-related issue. It could be your browser's cache and cookies are corrupted causing unexpected behaviors. Refer to these shortcut keys to open one:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

If it works, go back to your regular browser and clear the cache to delete those temporarily stored files and browsing history. You can also use supported, up-to-date browsers to roll out the possibility of a browser-related issue.

However, we can update and repair the Adobe Reader if the issue persists. You can visit the Adobe website for the detailed instructions

For additional reference about printing invoices in QBO, you can check this article: How to email or print multiple invoices and sales forms at one time.

I’m always ready to assist you if you have any other questions or concerns about your invoices. Tag me in your reply and I’ll sprint back into action, dorretti.
