Why are my invoice numbers no longer automatically applied

I'll help you make sure that transaction numbers are automatically applied when creating invoices, pirottamechanics.

 

It's possible that the custom transaction number feature might have been turned off. Let's go to your Accounts and Settings window to turn it back on. Here's how:

 

  1. Click the Gear icon and select Account and Settings.
  2. Proceed to the Sales tab, then click Sales form content.
  3. Check the box for Custom transaction numbers.
  4. Click Save, then click Done.

Once saved, create a sample invoice to check if the invoice number is already assigned automatically. 

 

You'll also want to run an Invoice List report to quickly review the invoices that you made. Please go to the Reports and look for Invoice List.
