Before you create and lodge a finalisation event, you'll need to make sure that there were pay runs created and pay event lodged to the ATO for the financial year. Then let's check on your Single Touch Payroll report and ensure that there's no finalisation created like update event wherein Is Final option is ticked.
Here's how to check:
If the employee has been marked as Is Final in a lodged event but you need to report some changes, you can instead lodge an Amended Finalisation event for this employee.
