applying customer/project in bulk

Hi guys, first post, would love to get to the bottom of this.

So I use ezzybills to bring my invoices through to qbo which I love but I am having a couple of issues.

Ezzybills brings through my construction business materials invoices through in detail, there are often 10 or more lines. I have set them to come through to products and services as this is how they need to come through to my project management software for tracking. Ezzybills also applies the product/service to the line items as, without this, qbo deletes the line if I try to change it but that's an issue for another day.

What I am hoping is that there is a way to apply a customer to multiple line items within a bill in bulk as, at the moment, I have to do it line by line. I do not use projects atm, just subcustomers.

Hi oakville,

Hope you are well.  I am testing this for you now.

Just to confirm, when we are in a bill and have multiple line items, we want to achieve - applying the same customer name to those multiple line items?

Thank you,

Kay.

Hi oakville,

I have found a cool way you can copy the contents of your bill whilst just switching the Supplier name.

Once you have created your bill, you should be able to see it in the Expenses tab.

From there you can select the drop down arrow next to the Bill and select Copy.

This will make an exact copy of the previous Bill, all you have to do is change the name of the Supplier and you will have 2 bills with the same line items but different Suppliers.

Select Save once you're finished.

I hope this helps!

Hi Kristian,

That does not help me apply the customer to the line items

Hi again oakville,

Apologies I misunderstood what your intentions were but I believe I know now.

Go to Settings > Account & Settings Expenses Bills & Expenses.

From there you want to turn Track expenses and items by customer On.

This will add a new column on your bills where you can select your customer/project.

Would love to know if this is what you were looking for.

Hi, Kristian has been trying to help but he doesn't seem to be able to  grasp the issue/request. You got it first go Kay. Have you had any luck?

well, this was a collosal waste of time. chat is useless, phone support is useless and the community page only resonds with confirmation of the issue or repeated misunderstanding of the issue, no answer whatsoever. Got quick knowledgable responses on the facebook pages, which confirmed the shortcomings. Rue the day I left xero, if it wasn't for the integration with my third party software I would be gone. I'll be lobbying them to integrate with other accounting programs so I don't have to deal with this anymore. I'm not a keyboard warrior normally but this really does suck.
