Hi, How do I change the trip purpose from business to personal when entering a trip manually on the app? QB online allows this and has the feature to create a round trip.

Are you enquiring about the Mileage feature in the QuickBooks Online app?

If so, once inside the app go to the Mileage feature and select the + icon to create a new Trip.

From here, you are able to enter all the information pertaining to the trip including the one titled Business Purpose.

If the trip was a personal trip, then I would suggest typing in "Personal" then saving the trip.

This way you can distinguish which trip was personal and which ones were for business.

I hope this clears things up for you a little!

Sorry that doesn't answer my question. 

I attached a PDF with 4 pictures to show what is going on. At the top of the page there are 2 pictures showing the "Create trip" tab for the quickbooks app and the online portal.

When I go to add trip online there is the option to "Mark trip as" Business and Personal, but on the app there is no such option. I want to know how to mark it as personal. 

If I do as you say and type "Personal", Quickbooks still marks this as a business trip. This is no good for me as the deductions are not calculated correctly in this case. 

You can see in the bottom 2 pictures. The most recent entry is where I have done what you said. and the bottom right picture shows the difference with trips actually marked as personal. Those trips were all added using the online portal, not the app.

Another question, the online portal allows you to "create round trip". I love this feature, is there any way to access it on the app?

Sorry, I would have explained my question better in the original post. But the character limit is quite... limiting. 

Thanks for clearing that up.

At the moment the QuickBooks Self Employed app is limited, in that it cannot allow you to select whether the trip is personal or for business.

I know this is frustrating, so I have passed on the feedback to our product team who hopefully can one day implement this in the mobile app itself.

Also, same deal with the 'Create Round Trip' feature.

These tools are available on the web version, just not the mobile app version for the time being.

We're always looking to make the platform better, so thank you for pointing this out to us.
