Cannot access reports

Hi egl-bigpond-com,

Thanks for posting in the Community!

Let's perform some basic troubleshooting steps to isolate the behavior encountered when accessing your reports in QuickBooks Online. To start with, use a new incognito window or a different supported browser. Using an incognito window does not store any data file.

Here's how:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

Then, log in to QBO and access your reports tab once more. If it works, you need to clear cache and cookies on your browser and make sure to take note of your saved password and URLS. Unexpected results when doing some task in QuickBooks Online are usually caused by cache or other browser issues.

Looking forward to hearing from you. I'm around to continue helping you.

Cannot access reports

It's my priority to assist you in troubleshooting and determining what's preventing you from accessing reports, @Lu22

Before proceeding, I'd like to know what user type and access you used to log in to QuickBooks. Please note that these permissions affect the tasks and areas you can navigate when pulling up reports. Here's an article for more information: User roles and access rights in QuickBooks Online.

Once verified and unable to run the report, log out and sign back into your QBO account. If you get the same result, we can perform more steps to check whether this has something to do with your browser. Let's start by logging in to your account via incognito or private browser through these shortcut keys:

  • For Chrome, press Ctrl+Shift+N.
  • For Internet Explorer or Firefox, press Ctrl+Shift+P.
  • For Safari, hold down Command+Shift+N.

You can generate reports from there. If it works, clear your browser’s cache to optimize the performance. Using other supported browsers is also encouraged to isolate this issue.

I’m attaching some resources with detailed information about personalising reports:

Please let us know how you get on after trying the steps, as I want to ensure you utilize QuickBooks report to its full potential. Just reply to this post, and I'll get back to you.
