Hi cowanunder-bogpo,
Thank you for reaching out to us and making us aware of this.
This happened due to a recent change on the ANZ website which interrupted the QuickBooks bank connection.
As a result of this change, if customers are signed into ANZ internet banking website and simultaneously attempting to connect with ANZ account in QuickBooks, customers will be prompted in-product to sign out of other device e.g. ANZ internet banking website (error 179).
This is a result of a ANZ security setting limiting the access to ANZ on multiple devices/browsers. Please sign out of any other instances before attempting to update your bank feeds.
If this persists then please get in touch with our support team who will help you troubleshoot or escalate this further if needed.

I hope this clears things up for you.

I’m having exactly the same issue, spoke to a QBO representative yesterday and this morning I have rung and spoke to ANZ ….. it’s a viscous circle ! QBO Blame ANZ for security update and ANZ are saying there end is fine and no errors are appearing, my bank feeds are all fine !!
just a fantastic situation to be in and I’ve deleted my linked accounts in QBO thinking that would resolve it and I am now unable to re add them due to this issue 😖
hope a resolution is found quickly !
Hi, @Shell2021. Thanks for joining this conversation.
At this time, there is an ongoing investigation in QuickBooks Online (QBO) about getting error 179 when connecting the ANZ bank.
To be notified of any updates about the investigation, I recommend reaching out to our Customer Care team. This way they can link your account on the INV so you'll receive updates via email. To do so, refer to these steps:
QuickBooks also makes it possible to import your bank transactions using a CSV file. This process will help you upload transactions for accounts connected or not connected to online banking. For the detailed instructions, please see this article: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.
Then, to ensure that your transactions are accurately matched and categorised, see this link for guidance: Categorise and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.
Keep me posted if you have further concerns about connecting your ANZ bank to QBO. I'll be on the lookout for your response. Have a good one.
